Birthday Decor

I had to show our decor for the party, it wasn't anything to fancy but I thought it turned out really cute, and Bailey got the biggest kick out of it. I also remembered this moment that I wanted to share, its a sappy one I must warn. We have been so wrapped up in watching Campbell grow and change that I sometimes overlook what a wonderful young lady Bailey is becoming. I was standing there with her as everyone is singing her happy birthday and I just about busted into tears. Here was my baby 5 years old, I could not believe in that moment that I was the mother of a 5 year old child. The time had gone so fast and someday I would be there with Campbell. So I have realized to cherish each day with both my kids because they grow so fast. Bailey is so fun, we can actually go to restaurants just the 2 of us and have a meal and just talk. She is so wonderful and I am so lucky that she is mine.

These were our Hello Kitty plates with lime green napkins that were specifically requested by Bailey. I think she is starting to take after her mother with this decorating thing.

This is the table for the kids. We set everything up as a table should be and it looked so cute Bailey was so excited when she saw it for the first time.

I took a picture of these bags because I made them myself for 50 cents. I bought 2 bags for $1 and made the image on the computer and added some ribbon that I had at home. I am quite proud, its the most creative thing I've done in along time.

This is the birthday cake, we ordered it from Sams, they make great cakes. I didn't realize how big this thing would be with all the cupcakes around it. I have been pawning cake off on people for days.

Bailey's 5th Birthday

Bailey's turned 5 on December 28th. We had her birthday party on Sunday the 27th at the Bouncy Barn, yes it was a bouncin good time. They have a bunch of inflatables and the kids loved it. We were able to rent out the whole place so it was really nice having everything to ourselves. We had a Hello Kitty theme as requested by the birthday girl. Even though the streets were still pretty bad from the blizzard 2 days before we had a great turnout. So thank you to all who braved the streets to come celebrate with us. Between Christmas and birthday I am in toy overload. I literally do not know where to put things. They are scattered everywhere, and we still have 2 more Christmas's to celebrate this weekend.

Bailey and mommy in front of the birthday cake.

Bailey taking a moment to pause for the camera.

Timmy had as much fun as the kids, they repeatadly dog pilled him.

I love the look on her face in this picture.

This is the gift Tim and I got her, and it was a big hit. It's a keyboard that has a ton of different options of music and best of all it has a headphone plug in.

Campbell is 3 Months Old

We have finally reached the 3 month marker, a day that seemed so far away has creeped up on us so fast. I plan to post each month and show how Campbell is changing and growing, so here we go. Campbell today you are 3 months old, and already you have become a beautiful little girl. You have started smiling when you see your mommy or daddy walk into the room. You even like to have conversations with us with your cooing and precious little noises. It is amazing how much neck strength you have already, even Dr. Sood(pediatrician) is amazed. You are enjoying sitting in your bumbo seat at around 5 minutes max. You take your naps in your swing and you are bit of a cat napper. You usually go to bed at 11:00pm waking at 5:00am for a feeding and then sleeping again until 8 or 9am. You are up for an hour or two at a time and then down for a nap again. You are eating about 4 oz's at a time, but that is increasing as I type this. You do not like to be left alone and love it when your daddy entertains you with his craziness. You are loving your hands right now they are always in your mouth. Even though you have a box of new toys you haven't really taken to them yet. You are such a wonderful baby who only is upset when she wants something. And one of the most important things of all, you love your big sister. When Bailey is around you have this look on your face, it is a combination of happiness, excitement, and intrigue all wrapped into one. You just watch her whenever she is around, it is the sweetest thing to see.

Christmas at Mammaw and Papaw King's

After having a very lazy Christmas morning, Tim's parents called to say they were on their way. We were supposed to have a Christmas lunch with them, his sister and aunts from Muskogee, but that never happened due to the 7 inches of snow we received. So we had planned on going to my parents house that evening for dinner so we invited Tim's parents and sister over to have Christmas dinner with us. It was really great to get the two families together, we had a really good time. I don't have many pictures of Campbell on Christmas because she is either whisked away by aunts and grandparents or asleep. She slept thru the whole dinner and present opening at my parents. So when we finally got home I thought I have to get a picture of her in her cute Christmas outfit her best bff Ramsey let her borrow, which we greatly appreciate thank you. But Campbell was not having any part of it, she had been held all day and was just plain tired, so I got what I got. We still have 2 more Christmas's to celebrate, dates TBA.

As you can see Tim was over come with expression when he opened his wonderful present from my brother, a gift card from Twin Peaks. And for those of you that don't know what this is its a restaurant inspired by Hooters, get it, Twin Peaks!

Timmy was also very excited about the new Hello Kitty water dispenser Bailey got.

We got this gift for Gavin I was happy to hear he liked it when he let out a big "oh yeah" when he opened it.

At then end of a long day I tried to finally get a picture of my two girls together, this is the best one I got. One for the memory books for sure.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was a huge success at our house. Tims parents called the house at 8:15am to let us know they were snowed in. I looked over to see Bailey and it was hilarious. She shot up and didnt skip a beat, she was out of the bed and into the living room. I was half asleep behind her trying to keep up when I heard a loud gasp. Santa had brought her exactly what she asked for, teddy bears. Not one, not two, but three bears, courtesy of daddy clause. She has a giant bear and two medium sized ones. She also got a new baby bed as you will see in the picture below. She went thru her stocking and was happy with everything. We then opened presents and this went very well since Miss Campbell dedcided that she was going to sleep in that morning. Bailey was esatic with everything that she got. Mommmy is very excited about the new laptop Timmy got her along with some other fine gifts. Mr. Melton was showered with OU apperal and a new fossil watch. Tim is with watches as women are with shoes and purses. We had a very relaxing morning since our white Christmas snowed everyone in. It was so wonderful no to have to rush to go somewhere or have people over. Tims parents live in Bristow, they called around 12:00pm. They had gotten both cars stuck in the snow trying to get out of their driveway. Finally Tims dad decided that he would cut the fence down so they could get out, now thats dedicated grandparents.

This is where the morning ended, Bailey playing her v-tech games wrapped in her teddy bear that Santa brought her for hours.

Miss Campbell relaxing on her daddy.

Bailey has wanted one of these pottery barn chairs for forever, so we finally broke down and bought one, trust me its a small investment for a 5 year old.

Bailey opening presents, she was excited about everything, I hope this last for many years to come.

The absolut best present of all, the one from Santa, a giant teddy bear.

The Night Before Christmas

The night before Chrsitmas I decide to take some pictures of the girls, here are a few of my favorites.

Bailey and Campbell's first Christmas as sisters.

Our mantel with the girls ballarina stockings.

Our tree for 2009, it looks completly different every year.

I asked Bailey to stand in front of the tree to take her picture and of course she had to pose for me.

My three blessings.

Two Cute Girls

Melton Family Christmas Party

We went to Tims family Christmas party on Saturday. They get together every year and have a potluck dinner and play dirty Santa, its really a good time. This was Campbell's first time meeting allot of Tim's family, I had not seen them since my baby shower. We has a really good time, we ended up with some of the better gifts I think. Time got a toolbox and I got some bath and body works stuff. The thing is you cant go over $10 when buying a gift so this can be kind of challenging. Campbell did great and I pretty much got an evening of freedom because she was either with her grandpa or her aunt Jennie, I was in heaven I actually got to eat a hot meal in one sitting.

Campbell meeting her new family.

Preston and Bailey playing.

Campbell and her grandpa Melton.

Poor Shelby

Have you ever wondered what your dog is thinking? I do all the time with Shelby. She has a very kind heart and she is a wonderful dog. And as most of you know she is a very big girl, that's why it always cracks me up to see her sitting in a chair on the back porch. She does this all the time, its kind of embarrassing because all our patio chairs are covered in black hair. But I had to take a picture to show you all how she just sits in these chairs and gazes into the sky. The other is a picture that I think shows just how she loves us and misses us when were gone. It never fails that when we come home you can find someones shoe on Shelby's bed. I think its a comfort thing for her. She doesn't chew on them or anything like that she just gets one and takes it to her bed. She lays next to it, or on it, and goes to sleep. I just thought it was really sweet. Notice Bailey's pink tennis shoe under the bed.

12 Weeks Old

Campbell was 12 weeks old yesterday. As I always say its going so fast. She is growing so fast and is just a wonderful baby. She is really starting to get a personality now. She smiles when she sees you and for no reason at all. We sat and had a little conversation last night, it was so cute. I would talk to her for awhile and she would make her little coo sounds. We went back and forth for about 10 minutes. We are excited for Christmas, Santa will be visiting both the girls. Speaking of Campbell she is up so I have to cut this post short, hope you love the cute smiles as much as I do.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving

Since Christmas is 2 weeks away I thought now would be a great time to show the super cute pictures of Campbell in her Thanksgiving sweater. My best friend, Jennifer, her mom, Janell, got this for Campbell and it is so cute. So her she is in all her pumpkin-ness, just love it. Thank you so much Janell for the sweater it was a big hit on Thanksgiving.

11 Weeks Old!

Today Campbell is 11 weeks old. We decided to take some pictures around the tree since we had our My First Christmas outfit on. She is still a great baby who loves to cuddle. She is really starting to smile allot now. She also does this little hand thing that is so precious. When I am holding her face to face she will take her right arm and wrap it around my upper left arm and latch on to the back of my arm with her little hand. It melts my heart every time, I guess its a mommy thing. We went to the doctor last Thursday for our 2 month check-up. Considering that she got 4shots she did very well. She cried while getting the shots but by the time I was at the checkout desk she had passed out, so I think shes a pretty tough cookie. She slept all day and most of the next, so mommy didn't mind that. Here are her measurements. Her weight 12.7(90% percentile), height 24 inches (95%), head 41cm (90%). Doctor said that she was doing great and she was really impressed with how well she is holding her head up, better than normal. We are going to have our eyes checked on Friday she was worried about some possible cross eyedness. She said that it can be completely normal but she wants it checked just in case, so will keep you posted.

What a cutie.

The best present under the tree.

What a cute little smile.

Come On-Really?

Yes ladies I could not help myself I have to make a post about my husband, and Timmy I want you to know that I love you to death, but sometimes I just want to say "come on-really? After you all read this you will know exactly what I mean. As you all know I am working more and with another child added into the mix, and Tim's crazy long hours I sometimes just feel as if I might go a little crazy. So on Tuesday night Tim got Campbell ready and into bed. I will give credit where it is due and Tim is a great dad and husband he is always ready and willing to help take care of his girls. He doesn't come home and sit in front of the tv he helps me with the kids and the house and I just want everyone to know that. This is not a husband bashing session, so on we go. So after her bath he asks where her gammies are, I say in the basket in her room I just folded them but did not put them away. So a few minutes later he comes into our room and asks me to hold her while he makes her a bottle, when I look at this poor child she has a one piece outfit that looks like shorts on her, that should be pants and 3/4 sleeves. Now I know exactly what he did, but I asked him anyway, honey where did you get these gammies. He says to me, from the pile of clothes in her crib. Now, this is where the Come On -Really part comes in. It had not been 5 minutes since he had asked where her gammies were and yet he still could not remember what I had told him. You see the clothes in her crib where the newborn clothes that I had just cleaned out of her drawers since they do not fit her anymore. So after he tells me where he got them from I decided to just keep my mouth shut, because at this point I really don't know if I should just feel sorry for him or what. Then the second incident happened yesterday. We were meeting at Lowes and he calls me wanting to know how far away I am, when I tell him he sounds a bit upset so I asked what his problem is. He tells me he needs to go to the bathroom. My response, well then go, but he has Campbell with him. He says I cant go because I have Campbell, my response? You guessed it Come On -Really? I said honey its very easy you just pick up her car seat go into a stall, set her down, and go to the bathroom. But oh no he could not do this it was either to difficult or a man thing, I don't know which and I wasn't about to ask. So long story short it is amazing to me how women are expected to do so much, and the fact that we do do so much. We are resourceful and if we have to go to the bathroom with 3 children in hand we will figure out a way, but a man has a nervous breakdown with one.

Prestons 5th Birthday

Preston, Baileys cousin, turned 5 on December 4th. He had his party at Pump It Up, where they have all these big inflatable slides and things. The kids had a great time, they were completely worn out by the end of the party. They had a big thrown for the birthday boy to open his presents on, but of course Bailey had to sit in it to. The other picture of her on the floor is actually her laughing. It was so hard to get good pictures the kids wouldn't stand still and my camera wouldn't work fast enough. When Preston went to have his picture taken with his cake he insisted that his dad be in the picture to, it was so cute. The picture with all the heads is the heard of children watching Preston open his presents. It was hilarious when you stepped back and looked at all these kids going crazy over toys.

Campbell

I was so busy updating you on our lives in the last post that I forgot to update everyone on Campbell. She is changing so much, we go Thursday for our 2 month check-up. She is smiling so much now, and its not just gas but actually smiles because we made her happy. We are getting somewhat of a schedule down. She is napping really well in her swing right now during the day, she will actually sleep for about 2 hours there. Usually she cat naps during the day, but that is ok because she is sleeping great at night. She is usually down by 10:00pm and sleeps between 4-5am. She will eat and sleep again until 7:30 or 8:00, so we are definitely happy with that arrangement. She is sleeping in her pack-n-play in our room, putting her on the other side of the house just isn't an option right now. She is eating 4 ozs at a feeding and she likes to eat. But all in all she is a great baby. Cries when she wants something and is otherwise pretty content just having someone around. I promise to try harder to keep things updated but I'm not making any promises with Christmas coming. Oh, and I am in the process of planning a very special birthday party for a very special soon to be 5 year old girl.

2 Months Old

Campbell was two months old on November 28th. I have been so busy that I haven't posted anything in the past few weeks so this is a combo blog of 8 and 9 weeks and 2 months. Even though I haven't been blogging I have been snappin pictures. We had a great Thanksgiving although we did alot of traveling. We started in Warner, headed to Okmulgee and then rounded the whole thing up with a quick visit to Bristow. Now don't get me wrong I cant complain about the whole day, the trip to Bristow was to drop Bailey off to spend the night at grandma's, a great ending to any day. I do have some pictures but they are on our new camera and I haven't figured out how to download those yet. But really there isn't much to show since Campbell slept the whole day, and I mean the whole day. I think she had a turkey comma minus the turkey. Bailey chased chickens in Warner on Thanksgiving, yes real live ones, we were way out in the boonies. But moving on we have been busy putting up Christmas trees and decorations, that always keeps me busy for a few days. I have officially returned to work and I have decided to pick up extra hours to help things out, because we can all guess what the car business is like right now. But we are surviving, working a few evenings a week and Wednesdays while Tim is home. All and all things are good, we are so looking forward to our first Christmas as a family of four.
