Softball Awards

After a long season of softball what does a girl want? A trophy of course, and that is exactly what we got on awards night. At the 7 & under age group they do not have rankings but everyone does get recognized and receives a trophy for participation.

This is Bailey's team BA Xpress, these girls have played together for 2 years now and they have some great coaches who are really great with the girls and the parents.

Here is Miss Bailey with her big fancy trophy. She loved that it had a softball in the middle of it, awesome she says!

Bailey and some of her team mates Abbie and Chloe, doing what they do best, being silly :)

Softball 2011

We just ended another exciting season of softball. It turns out that Bailey is quite the talent when it comes to softball. She has been nicknamed Slugger by some for her amazing ability to SMACK the crap out of the ball, no joke. Now once again I know that I am her mother but really she has a talent when it comes to hitting. Now fielding on the other hand could use some improvement but lets remember she is only 6. She has also informed me that she wants to be a pitcher which of course is music to my ears. So of course this momma will do whatever it takes to get this little girl where she wants to be.

And where exactly does she want to be you may ask, well Bailey has already informed us that she wants to play softball at either OU or OSU and quite honestly the fact the she already has this goal makes me ecstatic and I will not try to influence or persuade her in either direction, now her father on the hand is a different story. We had planned to go to the College World Series in OKC this past weekend but due to some unexpected surgery we were not able to go. Bailey has watched almost all the games on tv, she amazes me how she will sit and watch a whole softball game on tv and never get boared and she is excited to hear that another is coming on.

I just pray that my sweet little softball angel continues with this enthusiasm and attitude because if she does I know that she will be truly amazing with this gift that God has given her.

Last Day of Kindergarten

I'm really not sure if I was more sad on the first or last day of kindergarten. It is so hard to believe that this year has already come to an end and that she will be in first grade in only a few short months. Bailey has been an excellent student, and I am not just saying that because I'm her mother. She is an amazing reader and she loves to write books. Yes she writes them, illustrates them, and then binds them in some way shape or form. Bailey also loves to draw and she took special art classes after school all year called Young Rembrandt's. A special art teacher comes in and teaches the children how to draw people and objects better and in a more 3D way.

The picture above is a gift that we made for Bailey's teacher Mrs. Black. We used some scrapbook paper and stickers and we took a picture of the two of them on the first day of school. We then wrote a little thank you note to her teacher and then put it all together in a frame. I was not there when she gave it to her but from what I hear it was a huge hit.

And here is my beautiful baby girl on her last day of kindergarten, she is such a beautiful young lady and I am so proud of all the things that she has accomplished thus far. I love you baby girl!
