This Day Has Come

Kindergarten Bound

Well its official, Bailey will be starting kindergarten in 1 day. We had meet the teacher night tonight, but we didn't exactly get to meet her teacher. Turns out that Baileys teacher, Mrs. Armstrong, was actually the Broken Arrow teacher of the year lst year, but unfortunately she is in the hospital having brain surgery right now. We don't know the details but it was over heard that she may be returning in November, so please keep her in your prayers. So in the meantime we have Mrs. Paige who called in out of retirement to sub until then. But she seemed very nice and has been teaching for over 30 years.

Bailey is so excited to start school, she will be attending Oak Crest. I was intending on taking her and picking her up from school, but she is insisting that she ride the bus and that if I do take her to school that I just need to drop her off at the front door and she can find her way to her class. She is very independent and I know that eventually I will let her do some of theses things on her own, but for now I am having a hard time believing this day is actually here, its crazy. But I am glad that she is so confident in herself, I must be doing something right, I think :)




They had some really neat murals painted in the school so we took a picture in front of her favorite. I cant believe she is about to begin this new journey in her life, I cant wait to see where she goes.

Redneck Vacation

This person may look very familiar to you, but you may not be able to put your finger on it.  Here's a hint - think fried chicken- has it come to you yet, thats right its Mister Kentucky Fried Chicken.  The softball world cup was sponsored by KFC and he was there to visit.  It was crazy how many people wanted to say hello and have their picture taken with him, Bailey of course had no idea who he was.  The other pic is of Bailey, she is in love with hotels, she just thinks they are the neatest thing.  I could save alot of time and money and go to the Doubletree downtown for our next vacation and she would never know the difference.  She wants to eat at the hotel, swim at the hotel, and just walk around the hotel to check everything out, she was really fun on this trip.

Well its that time of the year again, time for the annual Melton Family Redneck Vacation.  We didn't travel to our usual redneck location, of Branson, no, we decided to dig a little deeper and find an even better spot, and oh my I must say we found a great spot, wait for it, wait for it, drum roll please.  OKC-yes thats right Oklahoma City.

In downtown OKC there are all these buffalo everywhere, so Bailey had to have her picture taken with everyone she saw.  Above is the American Flag Buffalo.

Bailey was obsessed with the Japan team.  She kept saying, "look at those chinese girls."  They are so funny at this age.

We'll our redneck vacation wasn't that bad since we went to see the USA Olympic Softball team play in the world cup, so I didn't suffer to much.  Bailey and I enjoyed the games, we had great seats, and we had some really good girl time.  Campbell stayed with her grandma and grandpa Melton, and we owe them a big THANK YOU.  On Sunday we went to Frontier City, sorry no pics of that, I took nothing in the park.  We had the BEESSTT time I was so shocked.  Bailey rode everything they would let her, and I mean every roller coaster and ferris wheel, she was afraid of nothing.  We had a blast with her and she keeps telling me that was the best day she ever had, aaaahhh.

This was a view from our room downtown, we were right next to Bricktown so we were able to just walk.  The OKC downtown was very nice, I was impressed, it pretty much puts downtown Tulsa to shame in my opinion.  I actually felt safe walking down the street.  We had a great time and look forward to next year when we can all enjoy our vacation together, hopefully in a non-redneck location.

Tattoo's

I let my children out of the house with my husband last night and they returned with tattoo's on their arms. Fake of course but I haven't seen many 9 month olds sportin a pink heart on their arm. Timmy took them out to play across the street and they got a thank you for playing with me gift from Addyson.

Bailey is at school so I didn't get a pic of hers put its a really pretty butterfly. They are really cute, I'm not upset, I was just really surprised. So were sportin our tank top to show off our heart.

Campbell loves playing with the phone. I love this picture because I had just given her the phone and she looked at me as if she was in disbelief that I actually gave it to her, funny!!

9 Months Old

On June 28, 2010 Campbell turned 9 months old. Her personality is definitely starting to shine thru as you can see from these pictures. We did our usual photo session, which lately when I pull out the camera she starts hamming it up, but not on this day. First of all she was not going to wear the bow and headband that I had put on her. From the moment it was on she was pulling and tugging to get it off as you can see in the picture below.

We were wearing our festive 4th of July shirt because it was only a few short days away. She has somewhat of a split personality, she will be happy one minute and then crying the next, that's why you can see tears in her eyes even though she is smiling. But she is a great girl, don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with her, its just hilarious to me actually.

We went for our 9 month check-up and her are her stats.

Weight 21 lbs 10.5 oz's (90th percentile)

Length 30 inches (97th percentile)

Head 47.4 cm (97th percentile)

As you can see she is a big girl and growing just like her sister. I remember at Bailey's one year appointment they told me if she continues to grow at this rate she would probably be around 5 ft 10 inches one day, and I still believe it.

Surprisingly Campbell is not much of an eater. She is eating well but she is very picky and doesn't like to take the time to sit and eat. She is not crawling yet but is getting very close. She has started going from laying down to a seated position. She is also working on perfecting her scream, it is the most awful high pitch scream you have ever heard, and it is even more delightful when we are out in public and she shares it with strangers. But honestly I am thanking the heavens that that is the only thing that I have to complain about. She is sleeping great waking up once a night and going right back to sleep after a feeding. She usually takes 3 naps a day which usually last 1-2 hours. She loves playing with toys and looking at books, her favorite video is Baby Einstein A Day At The Farm. She loves to laugh and has a super contagious giggle. The most amazing thing that has happened in this past month is that she said her first words, yes I said words. The first was mama, and she looks at me when she says this and it just melts my heart. Bailey's first word was dada, so I'm so thankful the good Lord cute me a break this time. But the cutest is bye bye, it sounds like bah bah when she says it, but she has said it to Tim's mom and my folks as well when they were leaving and said it to her. She puts her hand up and says bah bah, precious.

More 4th of July

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July, even though momma did have to work. We headed over to my folks for some Rib Crib, swimming, and fireworks. I never made it to the pool because Miss Campbell needed her evening nap, but she was a very happy camper when she woke up. We had a great time with my brother and his crew, Bailey looooves the boys, and that's what she calls them "The Boys."

All the little firecrackers had a great time with sparklers and those snappy things, you know you throw them at the ground and they go SNAP! Brian and Tim handled all the explosive activities, and I'm happy to report that they both have all of their body parts still in tact at this time :)

These two just take the cutest pictures together, Campbell is a daddy's girl. She got a little scared so she stayed inside with grandma most of the evening.

Bailey had a blast. There are two little girls that live next door to my folks that she plays with all the time, so she went over to do sparklers for a bit. She loves all fireworks and they do not scare her at all. She had a great time with her girlfriend's and her boys.
