OMG
Mommy just wanted me to let you know that she is so terribly sorry that she has never made a 10 month post for me, but she promises that she will make up for it it in a super double, picture packed, totally cute and funny, 10 and 11 month post. We thought we would keep you all in suspense as to what I have been up to these past few months, and let me tell you I am keepin that woman on the go. Love Y, all, Campbell Avery :)
Happy Birthday Tim
Sunday, August 29th was Mr. Tims 37th birthday. We had a small little party with some friends and family. This was the only picture I managed to take the whole time, which really worries me for Campbell's first birthday party that will take place in a month, that just will not do. Anyway, we had a great time visiting with everyone, thank you all so much for coming, Timmy really enjoyed the day.

First Day Gift
Bailey is the type of kid that remembers everything, and I mean everything. I know kids have great memories, but she honestly amazes me sometimes. So with this in mind I wanted to do something very special for her first day of kindergarten in hopes that she would always remember that day. She has been talking about a new scooter for sometime now, so I went and got her a barbie one. Tim put it together and put it on the showroom floor at the dealership with some balloons on it. She about icame unglued when she saw it. She just thought that was the neatest thing ever. So I have either created a great memory or a yearly tradition that could get quite expensive about 10 years down the road.

Just Plain Busy
Well, I know that many of you may be wondering where we have been lately but honestly we have just been busy. Tim is working late, most nights he's not home until 10pm, so that leaves me with 2 kids and all that goes with it. By the time I get them to bed around 8:30 I am ready to go there myself. So here is a little catch up to us.
Sometimes I like to get a little wild and crazy, hard to believe I know. So the other day I let Campbell feed herself. I gave her a plate of food and a spoon and let her go at it. She did pretty well and had a great time, I on the other hand had a not so great time cleaning up the mess.
This is my favorite thing in the world to watch, sleeping children, haha. This happens alot now, she just conks out when she gets home, poor baby.
This was our first homework project, a poster about herself. She did a great job. Bailey has discovered basketball at school and has now decided that she wants to be a professional basketball player when she grows up, works for me.

Kindergarten
The day I thought seemed forever away finally arrived today. My baby went to kindergarten. It just made me even sadder to think that my baby baby would be here in the blink of an eye as well. But it was a wonderful day none the less. I told Bailey last night that she needed to get to early because she would have to get up early, well at 6:30am I was woken by a little voice saying, "mommy its early, time to get up!" And let me tell you she was as bright eyed and bushy tailed as they come. So we got up watched cartoons, got dressed, did pictures, and we were off.
Campbell was in an excellent mood on the way to school, it was as if she knew she would now have her mommy all to herself for many days to come.
Family pic.
Bailey and daddy.
Bailey and mommy.
My little kindergartner, note the shirt that says it all - fabulous!!
I ordered her backpack and lunchbox from Pottery Barn and had her name put on each, super cute, and the lunch box will attach to the backpack so we'll never lose it, right? ahaha
When we got to school Bailey put a halt to all pictures. She was ready for us to leave and let her start her day, so I got a shot of her coloring, but it was all she would let me take, Miss Independent is a major understatement.

Kindergarten Bound
Well its official, Bailey will be starting kindergarten in 1 day. We had meet the teacher night tonight, but we didn't exactly get to meet her teacher. Turns out that Baileys teacher, Mrs. Armstrong, was actually the Broken Arrow teacher of the year lst year, but unfortunately she is in the hospital having brain surgery right now. We don't know the details but it was over heard that she may be returning in November, so please keep her in your prayers. So in the meantime we have Mrs. Paige who called in out of retirement to sub until then. But she seemed very nice and has been teaching for over 30 years.
Bailey is so excited to start school, she will be attending Oak Crest. I was intending on taking her and picking her up from school, but she is insisting that she ride the bus and that if I do take her to school that I just need to drop her off at the front door and she can find her way to her class. She is very independent and I know that eventually I will let her do some of theses things on her own, but for now I am having a hard time believing this day is actually here, its crazy. But I am glad that she is so confident in herself, I must be doing something right, I think :)
They had some really neat murals painted in the school so we took a picture in front of her favorite. I cant believe she is about to begin this new journey in her life, I cant wait to see where she goes.

Redneck Vacation
This person may look very familiar to you, but you may not be able to put your finger on it. Here's a hint - think fried chicken- has it come to you yet, thats right its Mister Kentucky Fried Chicken. The softball world cup was sponsored by KFC and he was there to visit. It was crazy how many people wanted to say hello and have their picture taken with him, Bailey of course had no idea who he was. The other pic is of Bailey, she is in love with hotels, she just thinks they are the neatest thing. I could save alot of time and money and go to the Doubletree downtown for our next vacation and she would never know the difference. She wants to eat at the hotel, swim at the hotel, and just walk around the hotel to check everything out, she was really fun on this trip.
This was a view from our room downtown, we were right next to Bricktown so we were able to just walk. The OKC downtown was very nice, I was impressed, it pretty much puts downtown Tulsa to shame in my opinion. I actually felt safe walking down the street. We had a great time and look forward to next year when we can all enjoy our vacation together, hopefully in a non-redneck location.
Well its that time of the year again, time for the annual Melton Family Redneck Vacation. We didn't travel to our usual redneck location, of Branson, no, we decided to dig a little deeper and find an even better spot, and oh my I must say we found a great spot, wait for it, wait for it, drum roll please. OKC-yes thats right Oklahoma City.
In downtown OKC there are all these buffalo everywhere, so Bailey had to have her picture taken with everyone she saw. Above is the American Flag Buffalo.
Bailey at the game with her fan posing for a picture. The USA team wore pink uniforms in support of breast cancer.
Bailey was obsessed with the Japan team. She kept saying, "look at those chinese girls." They are so funny at this age.
We'll our redneck vacation wasn't that bad since we went to see the USA Olympic Softball team play in the world cup, so I didn't suffer to much. Bailey and I enjoyed the games, we had great seats, and we had some really good girl time. Campbell stayed with her grandma and grandpa Melton, and we owe them a big THANK YOU. On Sunday we went to Frontier City, sorry no pics of that, I took nothing in the park. We had the BEESSTT time I was so shocked. Bailey rode everything they would let her, and I mean every roller coaster and ferris wheel, she was afraid of nothing. We had a blast with her and she keeps telling me that was the best day she ever had, aaaahhh.
Bailey is obsessed with tattoos and she got this one at frontier city.
